What They Say:
Kaoru is an OL you can find anywhere, serious and works diligently, but her husband is a super otaku and more-or-less a NEET. She is caught up in one of her husband’s whims one day or the subject of his concerns another, but the two are so close that it’s embarrassing to even watch them!

When Mayotama visits the household, it’s always a bit hit or miss since he doesn’t always connect well. Here, he’s talking about his desire to move from being a doujin artist to something more, and having failed at it directly, he’s thinking of going the assistant route first. With a little luck from Kaoru, she’s got an angle to help with thanks to an old friend in the business. Connections are everything and even if Kaoru doesn’t quite get it all, she’s always willing to help. So bringing Mayotama to meet Yuzuki, it has some amusing data oriented comedy going on to start with. Naturally, part of it turns more towards Yuzuki questioning how Kaoru ever got married since she never intended to, but it hits a few different points well and puts Mayotama on the right path. Digging into her work a bit, it has one of the sharpest gags with Hajime in regards to Kaoru, but it hits his sense of humor well.

In Summary:
The fun of this show is just in the simple humor that comes up and some of the interactions between characters. Mayotama actually comes across better here than in past episodes for me in a lot of ways, almost a bit more accessible in a sense since he’s not so overactive as we often see him. The family time works well and the way connections can be made has that proper ring of truth to it as well. But the best always comes down to Kaoru and Hajime, which plays out wonderfully here in different parts, and especially towards the end. We get to know a bit more about Kaoru’s past thanks to Yuzuki as well, which is certainly interesting and amusing.
