Fans of the two cour series WIXOSS have gotten the good news that a theatrical feature is in the works. No details were announced at the event for it in Japan this weekend, but the promotional/announcement teaser has been added online from Warner Bros. Japan. Two cour of the property based on the card game of the same name aired in 2014 from FUNimation, who is bringing the series over to North American fans.

While new material is coming on that front, it was also revealed this weekend though Ultra Jump magazine that the manga series Selector Infected Wixoss -peeping analyze- that was put out to support the franchise as a whole is going to come to a close next month in the magazine. The work from Manatsu Suzuki, base on the treatment from the TV series writer Mari Okada, has had one volume released so far and the second volume will bring it all together when that lands later in the year.

Property concept: WIXOSS is a card game that’s popular with teenagers. Supposedly there exist “LRIG Cards,” female character cards with wills of their own. Special girls can hear the voices of the LRIGs, and those who possess them are called Selectors. These Selectors have card battles in a dimension that other humans cannot access. It’s said that whoever triumphs in these battles will have their wish granted. Ruko Kominato is the latest girl to find an LRIG card. She names her card Tama, and without any further explanation is thrown into her life as a Selector.
