2 min read

Akito the Exiled Episode 3 PosterThe slow release for Code Geass: Akito the Exiled continues its marketing campaign as we get closer to the third part with its theatrical release, and Bandai Visual is working a familiar but welcome pattern. While we got a digest look at the first two episodes earlier this week, they’ve now let loose with a new three minute promo as well as a ten minute preview of the episode to draw you into going to see it and/or preorder the home video release. Set for release on May 2nd, 2015 in theaters with a home video release to follow, the first TV spot/theatrical announcement has arrived for the episode. The episode was originally going to get a March 2015 premiere, but was pushed back after the second episode got pushed back significantly previously.

The show has been picked up for release in North America by FUNimation and has been licensed in Australia by Madman. The original series was licensed in North America by Bandai Entertainment but has fallen out of print since the closure of the company. FUNimation picked up the rights to both properties back in the summer of 2013.

Plot concept: The story takes place in Europe in the year a.t.b. 2017. A Knightmare unit made of boys and girls from Area Eleven are thrown into a military operation with a 5% chance of survival. They must rescue an allied unit left behind on the European war front.

A six minute digest version of the series so far was released earlier this week:

And a TV spot for the theatrical run:
