Aniplex to Produce ‘Asterisk War’ Anime Series

asterisk-war-ln-v1-coverComing out of Seattle’s SakuraCon on Friday, Aniplex producer Shinichiro Kashiwada announced the company will be adapting the light novel series, The Asterisk War: The Academy City of the Water (Gakusen Toshi Asterisk). The anime series will be produced by A-1 Pictures, and will premiere in the Fall, 2015 season.

Written by Yuu Miyazaki, with art by illustrator okiura, so far seven volumes of the light novel “academy battle” action series have been published in Japan, through Media Factory.

Staff involved include chief director Manabu Ono (The Irregular at Magic High School), director Kenji Seto (Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life), with character design and animation direction by Tetusya Kawakami (Nanana’s Buried Treasure), and music by Rasmus Faber (Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne).

About: Amagiri Ayato arrives at The Academy City on water, Rikka—famous for the integrated battle entertainment, “Star Wars Festival”—at the invitation of the Student Council President of the Seidoukan Academy, Claudia. Soon after he incurs the wrath of the “Petalblaze Witch”, Julis, and ends up in a duel with her.
