cute-high-defense-club-episode-10What they say:
The normally cheerful Yumoto is acting strangely. His classmate, the manager of the baseball club, takes his temperature and reveals that he has a slight fever. The members of the Defense Club take him home to the Kurotama Bath, getting an eyeful of extreme brotherly love as Gora devotedly looks after his sick brother.

The Review:
Content:
As the tragic gears of fate continue to turn, the gang is chowing down in the cafeteria. Blond McProtagonist’s cold is awakening his mythical repressed homosexuality. I could probably end the review there as that is the episode (show) in a nutshell. Moving along, we are introduced to Glasses Fetish, a young man who has built his whole life around his cute demeanor and being a baseball team manager to have men fawn over him.

The credits roll and Blond McProtag is taken home by the rest of the gang. Sadly my non-existent fanfiction does not play out. Instead, older brother dotes on him. So blond McProtag heads to school wearing glasses and now the whole school is hornily (is that a word? It should be a word) chasing after him. Now glasses fetish is not amused! He is struck by the magical green porcupine needle and turns into a baseball bat. I am not paid enough for this.

The gang transforms with the exception of Blond McProtag who flirts with, in particular, dirty blond. After having his glasses knocked off by the pink koala who is actually an alien, Blond McProtag regains his personality again and transforms into sailor scarlet. They vanquish the monster with the power of love and we discover the goldfish not only talks but is potentially a villain. I wish I was crazy enough to be making that up.

In Summary:
This was stronger than the past few episodes. The cheese factor was up for one and it felt more relevant than past episodes. It was nice seeing character development for the protagonist for a change. The animation was improved from the past few episodes though too be fair I say that a lot. With the show crawling towards its climax me must confess this show will be missed. It has etched a place in my heart as something that has brought me warmth and joy. Although darned if a single character’s name can be remembered.

Grade: A
