‘The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan’ HD Anime TV Spot Arrives

2 min read

Disappearance of Yuki-Chan HeaderAfter getting a low quality TV spot last week for The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, that first spot is now available in a high definition form and it certainly makes a difference in appreciating the animation quality of the work. The show that will premiere on Tokyo MX on April 3rd and we get a pretty good look at the cast in general with all the familiar faces for fans from the Haruhi series.

Jun’ichi Wada ia set to direct the series based off of scripts by Touko Machida with Satelight handling the animation. Ikuko Ito is handling the character designs for it. Takeish Yasuda is handling the overall planning while Kenichi Tajiri is on board to work the art direction. Lantis is, unsurprisingly, handling the music for the show while Tatsuya Katou is on board to compose the original music for it.

The original cast is returning for the project as well with Minori Chihara as Yuki Nagato, Tomokazu Sugita as Kyon, Natsuko Kuwatani as Ryoko Asakura, Yuko Goto as Mikuru Asahina, Yuki Matsuoka as Tsuruya-san, Minoru Shiraishi as Taniguchi, Megumi Matsumoto as Kunikida, Daisuke Ono as Itsuki Koizumi and Aya Hirano as Haruhi Suzumiya.

Manga premise: Yuki Nagato, the shy president of the literature club, has never been very sure of herself around other people. But around Kyon, the only boy in the tiny, three-person club, Yuki finds herself faltering even more than usual. For Kyon, and for her precious club, Yuki must find her confidence and let her true personality shine!

This spin-off of the Haruhi Suzumiya series takes place in the world of the “Disappearance” arc of the original novels, focusing on the high school life (and romance!) of a tentative and bashful Yuki Nagato quite unlike the one you’ve come to know and love through the usual exploits of the SOS Brigade… but no less charming!
