FUNimation has a lot of show going into full on dub mode as part of their simuldub approach and the latest one to have its cast announced is that of Absolute Duo. The serise is schedueld to debut in dub form on March 16th at 2pm with new episodes to follow week. The dub production has set Zach Bolton and Caitlin Glass as the ADR directors with Cris George as the assistant ADR director. George is also working with Patrick Murphy and Jose Sandoval as the ADR engineers for the series. The dub script is being written by Sean Whitley.

The show is based on the light novels of the same name written by Takumi Hiiragi-boshi with artwork by Yuu Asaba. It’s set to be produced by studio 8Bit for the animation. The series has seen a manga adaptation already and the fifth volume of the light novel series came this spring and there’s a second manga spinoff as well. The series is being directed by Atsushi Nakayama based on scripts by Takamitsu Kouno and character designs by Keiichi Sano. Norie Takana is serving as the animation director for the series.
The Japanese cast for the series includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Tōru Kokonoe, Nozomi Yamamoto as Yurie Sigtuna, Ayaka Suwa as Tomoe Tachibana, Ayaka Imamura as Miyabi Hotaka, Haruka Yamazaki as Lilith Bristol, Haruka Tomatsu as Imari Nagakura, Yukari Tamura as Rito Tsukimi, Yui Horie as Sakuya Tsukumo, Natsuki Hanae as Tora and Yoshihisa Kawahara as Tatsu.
Plot concept: After losing a loved one, Tooru Kokonoe enrolls at Kouryou Academy so as to gain a <>, a weapon that is his soul manifestation, for the sake of revenge. He was expecting a weapon… What he got was a shield… How is he to seek revenge with something that isn’t even a weapon?!
