It’s been interesting watching the movements on the overseas release for Nadia – The Secret of Blue Water. While Siren Visual picked it up last year and released it in January 2015 on DVD, they weren’t sure if they were going to do a Blu-ray release of it. Last week, Animatsu announced the pickup of the UK rights and that they would be doing a DVD and Blu-ray release that will land on June 1st, 2015. That left Australian fans a bit miffed since they want to support it locally.

Now, Siren Visual has confirmed via Facebook (via this thread) that they will definitely be doing this series on Blu-ray and that it will be happening in July. No firm date is set yet nor is there pricing.

If you haven’t seen the series before, check out our Nadia – The Secret Of Blue Water Complete Collection Blu-ray Anime Review by me as well as Josh Begley’s Nadia: The Secret Of Blue Water TV Complete Collection Anime DVD Review.

Plot concept: It’s the end of the 19th century and a nerdy yet courageous young inventor crosses paths with an enigmatic young girl who carries with her an ancient jewel. Cue a slapstick villainous trio and a madman hell-bent on stealing the jewel and unraveling the mysteries of the Blue Water, restoring the Atlantean Empire and leading the world into the new century. Based on Jules Verne’s ’20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’, scored by Shiro Sagisu (who also worked on Neon Genesis Evangelion) and with eye-popping animation from the legendary GAINAX studios; we are very pleased to present this 90′s classic for the first time in Australia!
