Toei Entertainment is digging back into its catalog some more in Japan for shows that haven’t been released in an age and the latest one they’ve added is Kousoku Denjin Albegus, which translates as Lightspeed ElectroGod Albegas. The series ran for 45 episodes back in 1983 to 1984 with Kouzou Morishita directing with Shigenori Kageyama on character designs. The new Japanese releases are planned for July 8th, 2015 and September 9th, 2015, where we’ll get two sets with a twenty-two episode and twenty-three episode breakdown priced at 22,000 yen for each set. Toei is listing these as being very limited and encouraging preorders to ensure enough are made.
Plot concept: Three talented students of a technical high school, Daisaku, Tetsuya and Hotaru create award-winning robots as part of a school competition. At this time, the evil Derinja race that plans control of all space extends its ambitions to Earth. To combat this threat, Hotaru’s father, Professor Mizuki, takes the three robots and modifies them for battle. Albegas, a super robot, is born.
