When ADV Films closed down back on September 1st, 2009, their website went to the press release that basically laid out what happened and things have been left at that for the past six or so years.
But now, it looks like things may be changing. The site has recently gotten a refresh with the old logo spruced up a bit with a new large button around it and it’s playing out numbers along the bottom in the same form as a random countdown timer that could be kicked into gear at any time.
Is ADV Films about to resurface?
To be fair, while the company is essentially defunct, they do retain several licenses and have had titles come out over the years as handled through AEsir for distribution as those titles for various reasons could not be transferred to another company.
The company was originally founded back in 1992 by John Ledford and Matt Greenfield and was one of the more popular and well known companies during the 90’s as anime made it into entertainment stores around the country and they expanded heavily in the 2000’s with numerous ventures, releases and connections around the world.
