First ‘Kamisama Kiss’ Season 2 Anime Opening Clip Arrives

2 min read

Kamisama Kiss Season 2FUNimation has dropped their first piece from the second season of Kamisama Kiss on their YouTube channel where it’s called an official opening, but is more like the opening clip. Clocking in at three minutes, it’s a proper little introduction to things and sets the tone nicely. What’s interesting is that even with all the promotion done for the series previously, you can read through the comments and see the sheer number of people that are shocked and surprised that the season even exists as it’s the first time they’ve heard about it. Which is why getting your material out through multiple social media services is important.

The series made its debut on January 5th, 2015 starting on TV Tokyo before expanding to other regions, networks and satellite channels. The series will be directed by Akitaro Daichi at TMS Entertainment with Junko Yamanaka handling the character designs and chief animation directing duties. On the music side, it’s also been revealed that Hanae will be performing the opening and closing songs for the season, which is a welcome bit of continuity as she did that first season opening and closing songs as well.

The series stars Shinnosuke Tachibana as Tomoe, Suzuko Mimori as Nanami Momozono, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Mizuki, Daisuke Kishio as Kurama, Hiroki Takahashi as Otohiko, Akira Ishida as Mikage, Junichi Suwabe as Kirihito/Akuraō, Satomi Satou as Ami Nekota, Shūta Morishima as Isobe, Naoko Matsui as Onikiri, Chika Ookubo as Kotetsu, Showtaro Morikubo as Okuni-nushi, Hinata Kusunoki as Mamoru in monkey form while Daiki Yamashita will play the character in child form, Wataru Hatano as Jirō, Akira Kamiya as Sōjōbō, Hiro Shimono as Yatori, Daisuke Hirakawa as Suirō, Ayaka Saito as Botanmaru and Vanilla Yamazaki as Narrator.

Plot concept: Nanami was just a normal high school girl down on her luck until a stranger’s lips marked her as the new Land God and turned her world upside down. Now, she’s figuring out the duties of a deity with the help of Tomoe, a reformed fox demon who reluctantly becomes her familiar in a contract sealed with a kiss. The new responsibilities—and boys—are a lot to handle, like the crow demon masquerading as a gorgeous pop idol and the adorable snake spirit who’s chosen the newly minted god to be his bride. As the headstrong Tomoe tries to whip her into shape, Nanami finds that love just might have cute, pointed fox ears. With romance in the air, will the human deity be able to prove herself worthy of her new title?
