‘Major’ Manga Returns After Lengthy Hiatus

1 min read

MajorAfter originally being serialized for sixteen years between 1994 and 2010, Takuya Mitsuda’s manga series Major went on hiatus with seventy-eight volumes to its name and over fifty million copies sold. And, of course, a couple hundred anime episodes and a few films. Now, Mitsuda is coming back to the property in March with Weekly Shonen Sunday. The property has long been considered to be “final” with how it ended, so there are concerns about bringing it back to life since many consider that ending to be perfect, but as with life itself, there are many places yet the cast of characters can go to when it comes to being brought back to the forefront. Which we’ll find out in March.

Obviously, with this being a long running sports series, nobody is touching the manga or the anime outside of Japan.

Plot concept: The story of Major follows the life of Goro Honda, from kindergarten to being a professional baseball player, seeking and overcoming tremendous challenges.
