As we said earlier this week, this year is going to be the year of .hack for FUNimation as they have several series on tap to roll out in several ways. The latest route for one of the shows is with Hulu as they’ve brought out the first two episodes, subtitled, for .hack//Roots to the service. The show is a twenty-six episode series which originally aired back in 2006 during the spring and summer from Bee Train.

Plot concept: In the newest version of the massive online RPG know as “The World,” Haseo and his guild mates search for a legendary item called the Key of the Twilight—but they’re not the only ones looking for it. When a rival guild faces off against Haseo and his teammates, the conflict has deep repercussions both inside and outside the game, and threatens to leave the players forever changed.
