2 min read

Seraph Of The EndCasting continues for the spring 2015 anime series Seraph of the End as a pair of new actors have been added to the list. The latest additions bring on board Tomoaki Maeno as Kureo Hiragi while Tatsuhisa Suzuki has signed on to play Shinya Hiragi. The series is an adaptation of the Jump Square manga series by Takaya Kagami and Yamato Yamamoto. NBC Universal Japan added a new two minute promotional video for the property back in December and went the extra distance in providing English subtitles themselves, which is great to see. We also learned then that the series will be split into two seasons for its premiere in 2015 with the first half running in the spring season in April through June and then the second half in the fall season from October to December.

The series is set to be animated by Wit Studio, which will raise interest in it considerably for some, where it will be directed by Daisuke Tokutsuchi while Masashi Koizuka will serve as assistant director. The show will work off of scripts and composition by Hiroshi Seko while Satoshi Kadowaki will be handling the character designs. The series will star Takahiro Sakurai as Felid Bathory and Saori Hayami as Shinoa Hiiragi. The official site previously announced the lead cast with Miyu Irino as Yuichiro Hyakuya, Kensho Ono as Mikaela Hyakuya, Yuichi Nakamura as Guren Ichinose, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Yoichi Saotome, Kaito Ishikawa as Shiho Kimizuki, Tomoaki Maeno as Kureo Hiragi, Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Shinya Hiragi and Yuka Iguchi as Mitsuba Sangu.

The series began in 2012 with the first volume releasing in January 2013. The sixth installment landed back on September 4th, 2014 in Japan. Viz Media began their releases this past June and has volumes scheduled up through March 2015.

Plot concept: After a catastrophic epidemic kills every adult on earth, vampires arise from the shadows to enslave the remaining human population. Yuichiro and his friends are kept as vampire fodder in a creepy institution masquerading as an orphanage. One day, Yuichiro’s dreams of fighting back are realized when the orphans stage a daring escape. But things go horribly wrong, and his dream is kept alive at a cruel price.
