New York-based production company to produce Media Blasters’ first in-house anime dubs
New York, January 23rd, 2015 – New York-based production company MB VoiceWorks has signed on to produce Media Blasters’ first ever in-house English-language dubs for its anime series.
Media Blasters, who has been releasing translated anime in North America since May 1997, had previously contracted out its dubbing work, but has decided to bring its English-language anime dub production in-house for the first time, partnering with MB VoiceWorks to cast and direct the series.
MB VoiceWorks have confirmed that they will be starting with the two-episode series Holy Knight, on which production is due to begin at the end of January. No release date has been announced at this time.
MB VoiceWorks is a New-York based production company that specializes in voice acting, casting, directing and audio production for animation and video games, headed by co-founders Melanie Ehrlich and Brittany Lauda. In addition to casting and directing for myriad projects and media, both Ehrlich and Lauda are skilled voice actresses themselves with hundreds of voiced roles between them.
Ehrlich is also an accomplished on-camera actress, with recent appearances in Investigation Discovery’s hit series Redrum and the upcoming film Tumbledown starring Jason Sudeikis and Rebecca Hall, while Lauda’s background is primarily in animation and games, most notably voicing Mirim in the anime series Queen’s Blade Rebellion and Audrey in the game HuniePop.
Says Ehrlich of the partnership, “We’re very much looking forward to working with Media Blasters.” We’re particularly excited to bring some talented, fresh voices to the work, along with some fan favorites.”
“We have an excellent cast, and a brand new ADR room to break in—we’re very excited to get started!” Lauda agreed. “All we need now is to gather some cute anime girl posters, and it will be a perfect housewarming dub.”
