Kadokawa is going all out with their home video announcement for how things will play out for The Testament of Sister New Devil on DVD and Blu-ray. The company is hitting us up with a six volume release that begins on March 27th, 2015 and continues monthly from there for both formats. The Blu-ray is priced at 7,600 yen each while the limited edition DVDs are at 6,600 yen and the regular editions at 5,600 yen. The first set is listed to come with the basics such as a clean opening for now with more to be potentially added later. No details about what makes the Blu-ray and limited edition DVD a limited edition is available yet.
The series is set to premiere on January 7th, 2015 on Tokyo MX and expand from there into other areas.
The anime adaptation was announced as production in early August for the light novel series Shinmai Maou no Keiyakusha. The original work comes from writer Tetsuto Uesu with artwork by Nekosuke Ookuma that began in 2012 and has six volumes to its name so far. This is the second anime adaptation of one of Uesu’s properties as we previously saw Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero get adapted, which was streamed and licensed in North America by FUNimation. The anime adaptation is being set up at Production IMS where it will be directed by Hisashi Saito based on scripts by Takao Yoshioka and character designs by Yoshihiro Watanabe.
The cast so far includes Yuichi Nakamura as Basara Toujou, Ayaka Asai as Mio Naruse, Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Yuki Nonaka, Kaori Fukuhara as Maria Naruse, Yuu Asakawa as Chisato Hasegawa, Keiji Fujiwara as Jin Toujou, Tomokazu Sugita as Takigawa Yahiro, Iori Nomizu as Kurumi Nonaka, Go Inoue as Takashi Hayase, Daisuke Hirakawa as Kyoichi Shiba, Seiko Yoshida as Zest and Kenjiro Tsuda as Mamoru Sakazaki.
Plot concept: The revolves around Basara Tojo, a first-year high school student who is flustered by a sudden question by his eccentric father, “Hey, didn’t you used to say you wanted a little sister?” Plus, his father announces that he is getting remarried. His father brings over two beautiful step-sisters, but then embarks on an overseas trip. However, the two sisters Mio and Maria Naruse are actually a novice devil and succubus.
