Sometimes, for any number of reasons, a project can take awhile to get off the ground, especially with new seasons of a property that may have to wait for all participants to be freed up to work on it. Such is the case with Symphogear, which announced a year ago that a third season would be coming but has been decidedly quiet since then. With its original season a winter 2012 show and the second season a summer 2013 show, we’re now looking at sometime in 2015 for the third season according to the new tweet that was sent out by the official account. Translation via Crunchyroll:
“It has been just a year since ‘Symphogear Live’ today. It means, it has also been a year since the announcement of the TV anime’s third season. Sorry for keeping you waiting. Though all we can say now is we have been working on the production diligently, please look forward to updates!”
今日でシンフォギアライブ2013からちょうど一年! という事は、TVアニメ第3期制作決定を発表してから1年! お待たせしてすみません。。まだ鋭意制作中としか言えませんが、続報をお楽しみに!! #symphogear

Property concept: Two years ago, a pair of idols, Tsubasa Kazanari and Kanade Amou, collectively known as ZweiWing, fought against an alien race known as Noise using armor known as Symphogear. To protect a girl named Hibiki Tachibana, who got severely wounded by the Noise, Kanade sacrificed herself. Two years later, as Tsubasa has fought the Noise alone, Hibiki ends up gaining the same power as Kanade.
