Stephen Amell Wants ‘Arrow’ Crossovers With All DC Comics TV Series

2 min read

Suicide SquadStephen Amell is probably one of the best advocates comic book fans have for the DC Comics TV series being done right. With the way he’s largely been front and center with Arrow in being out there promoting it and making it one of the bigger shows on The CW than they’ve had in years, you can tell from the interviews that he really wants to foster all of this, especially after the great experience with The Flash and the crossover this past week. He’s also lashed out a bit at Warner Bros. with how they announced a Flash film with a different actor and are intent on keeping the film and TV series universes apart.

With that in mind, Amell wants to cement the TV universe in a bigger way by doing crossovers with other shows.

“I know the logistics are challenging and the politics are above my pay grade, but in the interest of putting the best product forth for the fans, I don’t think we should limit ourselves to ‘Flash’ and ‘Arrow’ crossing over because we’re both on the CW,” said Amell. “If you’re owned by Warner Bros., or if you’re just in the DC Universe, everything should be in play.”

The challenges are certainly there because of the networks, but it’s also a different beast than twenty years ago when networks produced their own shows for their own networks. Now that they produce for other networks and have an investment in making them succeed, something like this is much more doable as Warner Bros. TV is producing all of the DC Comics shows with the various networks. You can see the positives in it and the only real negatives is that the crossover happens on other networks sometimes, unless you do a two part thing to help raise all boats. Which is likely the plan anyway.

Suffice to say, we’re up for seeing this happen as Stephen Amell as Green Arrow on other DC Comics series makes the most sense, in-character and as an ambassador for TV comic book series in general.
