HetaliaOh the fun fans will have with this title.

The new issue of Monthly Comic Birz is set to hit stands in Japan this weekend, but as is always the case, the juiciest information gets pics snapped of it by people finding copies earlier and sharing them online. This issue is set to reveal that the sixth season of Hetalia has been given the green light and it will be called The World Twinkle. There are now particular details about it revealed, but it’s presumed for a 2015 debut and likely to bring back a lot of the people that worked on the previous seasons that adapted Hideka Himaruya’s manga into animated form.

FUNimation has previously licensed and streamed/simulcast the seasons as well as acquiring the rights to the movie as well. The series continues to be a strong player in the social media world with the manga installments generating a lot of traffic when they come out.

Series concept: Described as a “cynical gag” story set in Europe in the years between WW1 and WW2 (1918-1939), using exaggerated caricatures of the different nationalities as portrayed by a gaggle of bishōnen. For example, the Italia Veneziano character is into pasta and women. The Deutsche (German) bishi loves potatoes and sausages, and Nippon is an otaku boy. Installments of the manga have jumped back and forth in setting from the ancient times to modern-day geopolitics. The manga’s title comes the Japanese words for “useless” (hetare) and Italy (Italia).
