As we’ve noted before, crossovers are a staple of the comic book industry but tend to be very rare in the official sense in Japan with the manga world. Marvel is getting a bit of fun this weekend with a special crossover in the Brutus magazine with Attack on Avengers, a story plotted by Hajime Isayama of Attack on Titan fame that will be in both English and Japanese, noting that it’s English is being “taught” in a sense through the smaller Japanese translation notes. With the issue landing Saturday (i.e. now) in Japan, more material is showing up, including a color page, that shows that the Guardians of the Galaxy are involved as well as a panel or two showing off Black Widow, Hawkeye and Captain America.
While Iayama is plotting the book, it’s being illustrated by Gerardo Sandoval, who is currently illustrating the Guardians 3000 series for Marvel Comics.
