New ‘Dragon Ball Z’ Anime Movie Tentatively Dated

1 min read

Dragon Ball Z Battle Of The Gods Image 3While far from official, there’s a tentative date out now for a new Dragon Ball Z feature film. After discovering that there’s still money to be made with the property with the 2013 theatrical film Dragon Ball Z: Battle Of Gods, which brought in $50 million at the box office and had a good international run overall, it’s no surprise that we’re going to be seeing more of this property revived with new stories. That’s been talked about before and a new feature in 2015 was also pretty much a given. The site for Cinema City in Tachikawa City is listing that 2015 film with an April 20th, 2015 premiere date and it’s also using the placeholder running time listing of 120 minutes, which it’s almost assuredly not going to be.

The film doesn’t have a lot in the way of details other than that Akira Toriyama is heavily involved with the concept, screenplay and character designs and that Tadayoshi Yamamuro, who worked as the animation director on the original series, is on board to direct this feature.
