‘Assassination Classroom’ Anime Adaptation Set For Two Seasons

2 min read

Assassination Classroom Image 1The upcoming anime TV series adaptation of the manga series Assassination Classroom from Yusei Matsui is starting to look a bit more intriguing with the latest tidbit that has come out. According to a new image that has landed talking about upcoming anime adaptations, the series is listed as being set for two seasons. The show has set Jun Fukuyama as Koro-sensei, Tomokazu sugita as Tadaomi Karasuma and Shizuka Itou as Irina Jelavic. These are new actors taking on the roles as a different trio played them back in the event special that was put out previously.

The show is slated for a January 2015 debut and it will be a late night Friday series when it lands.

The manga is getting released in North America this December and while there was an OVA created before for the show, the new series will be going its own way. While that was handled by Brain’s Base, this series will be handled at studio Lerche with Seiji Kishi directing it with Makoto Uezeu handling the scripts while Kazuaki Morita will be tackling the character designs. Kishi is certainly a good choice for a project like this as he’s coming off of his work on some other high profile adaptations such as Persona 4 and Danganronpa while Uezu was involved in the latter as well as Apreggio of Blue Steel and School Days among others.

Plot concept: A humorous and action-packed story about a class of misfits who are trying to kill their new teacher – an alien octopus with bizarre powers and super strength! The teacher has just destroyed the moon and is threatening to destroy the earth – unless his students can destroy him first. What makes things more complicated is that he’s the best teacher they’ve ever had!
