The latest installment of the Hana to Yume magazine in Japan is set to land on Wednesday, but the eager folks in Japan have managed to grab screenshots of key pieces to share. One of those pieces is that the upcoming 2015 series Kamisama Kiss will be getting a January debut. There was also the announcement of several new characters being cast, with Wataru Hatano as Jirō, Akira Kamiya as Sōjōbō, Hiro Shimono as Yatori, Daisuke Hirakawa as Suirō, Ayaka Saito as Botanmaru.

On the music side, it’s also been revealed that Hanae will be performing the opening and closing songs for the season, which is a welcome bit of continuity as she did that first season opening and closing songs as well.

The series will be directed by Akitaro Daichi at TMS Entertainment with Junko Yamanaka handling the character designs and chief animation directing duties.

The previously revealed cast includes:

The series stars Shinnosuke Tachibana as Tomoe, Suzuko Mimori as Nanami Momozono, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Mizuki, Daisuke Kishio as Kurama, Hiroki Takahashi as Otohiko, Akira Ishida as Mikage, Junichi Suwabe as Kirihito/Akuraō, Satomi Satou as Ami Nekota, Shūta Morishima as Isobe, Naoko Matsui as Onikiri, Chika Ookubo as Kotetsu, Showtaro Morikubo as Okuni-nushi, Hinata Kusunoki as Mamoru in monkey form while Daiki Yamashita will play the character in child form and Vanilla Yamazaki as Narrator.

The first season was broadcast and simulcast in the fall of 2012 with FUNimation streaming it and releasing it one DVD/BD this year in North America. Viz Media is currently releasing the manga and has the 16th volume scheduled for next month. The Japanese release is ahead by a few volumes as the 19th volume was released there last month.

Plot concept: Nanami was just a normal high school girl down on her luck until a stranger’s lips marked her as the new Land God and turned her world upside down. Now, she’s figuring out the duties of a deity with the help of Tomoe, a reformed fox demon who reluctantly becomes her familiar in a contract sealed with a kiss.

The new responsibilities – and boys – are a lot to handle, like the crow demon masquerading as a gorgeous pop idol and the adorable snake spirit who’s chosen the newly minted god to be his bride. As the headstrong Tomoe tries to whip her into shape, Nanami finds that love just might have cute, pointed fox ears. With romance in the air, will the human deity be able to prove herself worthy of her new title?
