Rage Of Bahamut Episode 4
It’s back to the Carribean everyone, and with actual pirates this time!

What They Say
Favarro is a rogue bounty hunter by trade and is relentlessly pursued by his rival Kaisar. One day after completing a job he encounters a mysterious girl who is seeking out a location called Helheim. Favvaro claims to know where it is and after she ends up saving him, Favarro finds his life changed forever.

So with last week’s episode having shifted things a bit with a horror movie scenario, this week’s episode is a return to form. Of course that’s not necessarily a bad thing since the show has been firing on all cylinders so far and has managed to stay pretty sharp. That run only continues in this episode, but stronger than before as the show ramps up both the fun and the story considerably.

After talking with Bacchus in last week’s episode, Favarro finally has a lead to get Amara to Helheim and looks to get a boat there. However it initially appears to be a pretty bogus lead since no one seems to know where it is. That is until a ridiculously shady old man tells him where he can find a boat which leads to him running into an old acquaintance of his father named Amon. Kaisar of course isn’t too far behind and is pretty curious as to why Rita’s decided to follow him around though she doesn’t really give him a straight answer. He looks to be out of luck in keeping up with Favarro when he finds out they’re at see, but that same shady old man from before comes back and tells him where he can get a boat too(separate from Favarro’s of course).

The first part of the boat ride brings some interesting character material as we learn a little more about Favarro and why Kaisar hates his guts so much. Turns out the two used to be childhood friends, but while Kaisar thought Favarro’s dad was just a carpenter, it turned out he was a bandit, and led the same group  that was responsible for the downfall of Kaisar’s family. Kaisar seems to be under the impression that Favaro sold him out and was in on the whole scheme. Favarro on the other hand mentions his dad was a robin hood of sorts and that didn’t exactly mesh well with the self serving attitude we all know and love so it’s apparent that there’s much more to the story than that.

Of course the episode wouldn’t be as fun without some high-rise action to go with it, and it has that in spades. Favarro and Amara’s ship ends up getting attacked by a giant crab called Shipwrecker (at least the name is honest) while Kaisar and Rita get attacked by pirates. The latter two fare pretty well as Kaisar holds off the pirates with ease and they all end up becoming Rita’s latest zombie victims. Favarro and Amara on the other hand, manage to hold off the giant crab pretty easily as well, but Amara exposes her demon powers in the process which intrigues Amon. He reveals that he’s gone under a bit of a career change and is now a demon  as well instead of a pirate (must come with some better health benefits) and turns on the two. Apparently he also tried to sell out Favarro’s dad as well during the whole scheme with Kaisar’s family and plans to have Favarro meet the same fate.

Before he gets the chance, Kaisar’s ship catches up and a horde of recently converted zombie pirates attacks Amon’s army of demon pirates. This gives Favarro the opportunity to slip away and turn the tables on him, sending Amon to his death at the hands of Shipwrecker in typical Moby Dick fashion. Favarro doesn’t have much time to celebrate as Kaisar finally manages to corner him but before he can get his chance to get revenge the demons that have been keeping track of all of them swoop in to take Amara and end up taking Kaisar along with her.

In Summary:
This week’s Bahamut goes full speed and delivers on the show’s best episode yet as it brings a strong mix of story development and fun action scenes. With the mystery behind Favarro and Kaisar’s past mostly revealed it’ll be interesting to see where that story actually ends and if the truth is as clear as it seems. More importantly the show ends on it’s first cliffhanger, and it looks like it may be up to Favarro to save the day. Will he actually be doing something heroic next week? It’ll be fun to find out.
