Tokyo Ghoul made a nice splash at the New York Comic Con yesterday when Viz Media announced the pickup of the recently completed fourteen volume run of Sui Ishida’s series that just saw an anime adaptation as well. Now things are picking up for fans of the property even more as the expected sequel series has been given a launch date. The new series, Tokyo Ghoul:re, is set to appear in the 46th issue of Weekly Young Jump this month to give fans the next stage of the horror/suspense manga series.

Plot concept: Strange murders are happening in Tokyo. Due to liquid evidence at the scene, the police conclude the attacks are the results of “eater” type ghouls. College buddies Kaneki and Hide come up with the idea that ghouls are imitating humans so that’s why they haven’t ever seen one. Little did they know that their theory may very well become reality.
