Viz Media has made a pretty highly requested pickup today at the New York Comic Con as the company announced that they’ve picked up the rights to Tokyo Ghoul. The series comes from Sui Ishida which ran for fourteen volumes beginning in 2011 and completing just a few weeks ago. An anime adaptation was broadcast this summer which was simulcast by FUNimation. Viz Media intends to rbing the book out on June 16th, 2015 at $12.99 per volume.
Plot concept: Strange murders are happening in Tokyo. Due to liquid evidence at the scene, the police conclude the attacks are the results of “eater” type ghouls. College buddies Kaneki and Hide come up with the idea that ghouls are imitating humans so that’s why they haven’t ever seen one. Little did they know that their theory may very well become reality.
