Second Classic ‘Sailor Moon’ Anime Collections Announced With Retailer Exclusive

Sailor Moon Set 2As we get closer to the debut of the first Sailor Moon collections that go back to the original anime series, Viz Media has announced the second set, which covers episodes 24-46. Due out on February 10th, 2015, the 510 minute set will be released in a regular edition DVD and a DVD/BD combo limited edition release. The DVD/BD combo edition is priced at $69.99 while the DVD only edition is at $44.82.

On-disc extras for the Blu-ray include Sailor Moon Day Convention Event Highlights, Moonlight Memories Part 1, Full Anime Expo Sailor Moon Panel and Cast Announcement, Official Cosplay Teams Interviews, Clean Opening and Ending, Art Galleries. The DVD edition contains just the Sailor Moon Day Convention Event Highlights.

Plot concept: Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, and Sailor Mars continue their quest for the Legendary Silver Crystal as two new powerful allies join the fight. Sailor Jupiter is the tall and tough Guardian of Thunder, and Sailor Venus is the Guardian of Love and the most experienced member.

Sailor Moon herself gets an impressive new power and learns more about the mysterious Tuxedo Mask. Could their distant past be intertwined, and does that have anything to do with the Moon Princess they seek? The final ordeal with Queen Beryl looms on the horizon, and it will take everything the Sailor Guardians have to be victorious!

  1. It’s kind of annoying and disappointing how they are breaking the episodes up. The first season/series has 52 episodes and no specials, so why on Earth would they split it at episode 46? My only guess is they plan on keeping an even number of episodes on each collection and not dividing it by Classic, R, S, SuperS and Stars like I hoped they would.

  2. The first season of sailor moon only has 46 episodes. Then sailor moon R has 43 episodes, sailor moon S has 38, sailor moon super s has 39, then sailor stars has 34 episodes. Then they all add up to 200 episodes. So I don’t know what your talking about.
