The fall simulcast hits keep coming as anime fans have a whole lot to variety to look forward to once again this fall. The latest addition to the schedule for Crunchyroll is their pickup of Kaitou Joker, aka Mysterious Joker, which they’re localizing as JOKER. The show is set to debut on October 6th, 2014 at 7:30am Easter Time for premium members and a week later for free members. The show has strong availability for fans as it’s open to audiences worldwide outside of Asia.
The series, based on the children’s oriented manga, comes from Hideyasu Takahashi and has had seventeen volumes released in Japan so far. It’s Takahashi’s first work, which he began back in 2007.
Kaitou Joker is being directed by Yukiyo Teramoto with Dai Sato listed as the series organizer. Miho Shimogasa is handling the character designs and it’s being animated by Shin-Ei Animation. It will star Ayumu Murase as Joker, Yumiko Kobayashi as Hachi, Hiro Shimono as Spade, Miyuki Sawashiro as Queen, Naoki Tatsuta as Dogusaburo Oniyama, Nobuo Tobita as Mister Kaneari, Aki Kaneda as Kaneko, Haruna Sakurai as Momo Shirai, Yuko Hara as Ginko Kurosaki and Bin Shimada as Silver Heart
Plot concept: OKER focuses on the phantom thief Joker, who travels the globe searching for treasure. Along the way, with his partner and cook Hachi, they must avoid the police and compete in various competitions to reach the Timeslip Treasure.
