The second half of Beware the Batman is getting its broadcast run at long last, but it’s essentially a one-off event to just get it done and over with – just before it comes out on home video as well. The series has had a harsh “run”, if you can call it that, as it premiered last fall and was yanked off after the first three months. The show returned brief in April as part of Toonami, but the second half of its run has been largely absent until now as it will get a marathon run with the final seven episodes this Saturday from 2:30 am to 6 am ET. According to the sources finding out about this, the show is being written off as a loss financially and they’re just shoving it out the door in just as shoddy a form as they treated it since its debut this time last year.
The second half is slated for a September 30th, 2014 release on both DVD and Blu-ray. Like the first half, it’s expected to be a barebones release with all the episodes from this half on one disc in high definition for the Blu-ray release in 1080p using a DTS-HD MA lossless English language track. The Blu-ray release is priced at $21.99 while the DVD is at $19.97.
