Fans of Highschool DxD were delighted to learn that a third season of the series was in the works after it was announced earlier this summer. Now, some new information has surfaced that will reassure fans. While new seasons often carry through with the same production team, there can be times when the team is committed to other projects or even that they’re simply done with the project and are simply ready to move on. The newest issue of Dragon Magazine has landed to help reassure those fans that things will go well as the team is coming back for another go around. The series will be directed by Tatsuya Yanagisawa based on series composition by Takao Yoshioka and character designs by Junji Goto.

The first two seasons came relatively quickly with the first debuting in 2012 and the second hitting in 2013, but no date has been set for the third season yet. The cast are to return for the third outing.

The light novel series began in 2008 and has seventeen volumes to its name so far. A manga adaptation kicked off in 2010 with the main run of it having four volumes, but there are a few spinoffs as well. Yen Press has picked up the main manga as well as the first spinoff from 2012. A 3DS visual novel game was released at the end of 2013 in Japan as well.

Franchise concept: A war between heaven and hell is raging on Earth – and a hot mess of hormonal fury is raging in Issei’s pants. The guy is dying to get some action. Which is funny, since his first date ever turns into a winged monster and tries to kill him. Fortunately, ridiculously curvy redhead Rias comes to his rescue. She’s president of The Occult Research Club, a club that doesn’t actually research the occult. They ARE the occult – and Rias is a Devil.

Rias takes Issei as a more-than-willing slave and begins training him to use magic in battle against the Fallen Angels, the long-time enemies of Devils everywhere. If Issei can improve his mystical skills, he’ll be able to help his hotter-than-hell master and her scorching supernatural schoolgirl friends defeat their foes. Even better, he might end up with a few sexy slaves of his own.
