NBCUniversal Japan is definitely mining their catalog well for fans who grew up on 80’s anime as they’ve now unearthed Uchuusen Sagitarrius for release later this year. Due out on December 10th, 2014, the set will be priced at 68,000 yen and will contain the entire 77 episode run that was broadcast back in 1986. The set will also come with a new booklet, the clean opening and closings and the original pilot film. The release information looks like this should be a great looking transfer as the 35mm film master was re-telecined so it’ll be working off of some great materials if they’re in solid shape. The original Japanese language track will be presented in PCM mono and the release will be spread across 11 Blu-ray discs for a total of 1912 minutes.
Plot concept: Working for a multi-purpose space agency, Toppy and Rana make friends with Giraffe, a scientist, and go through various adventures in space. The three encounter danger at times, but their friendship always saves them just in the nick of time.
