Announced in early May 2014 for a debut this fall, it’s been pretty quiet when it comes to the anime adaptation of the manga series Orenchi no Furo Jijou, aka The Circumstances in My Home’s Bathtub. We had the first blush staff details previously and a key visual was also released and now we have some of the cast side of the equation come out. The series will star Nobunaga Shimazaki as Tatsumi while Tatsuhisa Suzuki will take on the role of Takasu. It’s an amusing pairing as the two actors are currently in Free! Eternal Summer where they play Haruka and Makoto respectively.
The work comes from manga creator Itokichi which began back in 2011 and has three volumes published so far. The anime adaptation was announced in the newest issue of Comic Gene magazine. The series is coming from Asahi Production and will debut on October 6th, 2014. Sayo Aoi is set to direct the show based on scripts by Yuniko Ayana with character designs by Koji Haneda.
Plot concept: Tatsumi is a high school boy who lives by himself. However, a devastatingly handsome merman named Wakasa moves into the bathtub in Tatsumi’s home. Wakasa is a bit self-centered but cute, while Tatsumi is cool but a busybody.
