While high school show are a dime a dozen, one that’s coming may stand out a bit since its title translates to Prison School. Originally starting in 2011, Akira Hiramoto’s Kangoku Gakuen has announced with its fourteenth volume this week that the series will be getting an anime adaptation. It’s not revealed as to whether it’ll be a series of OADs, specials or a regular TV series. The series is doing fairly well in Japan with over three and a half million copies in print so far and the authors previous works, Ago Nashi Gen to Ore Monogatari and Yarisugi Companion to Atashi Monogatari have had adaptations in the last few years in the realm of mobile animation and live action film.

Plot concept: Hachimitsu Academy, known for its strict academic standards and even stricter school code, is making a giant change this year. In the first time in school history, they are allowing boys to be admitted. As Fujino Kiyoshi starts his first day at Hachimitsu Academy he is shocked to find out that there are only 4 other guys in the entire school, making the ratio of girls to boys 200:1. And to their dismay, not one of the thousand girls will talk to them or even acknowledge them. But Kiyoshi and the guys are about to find out about the shadow student council that has been threatening the female students about interacting with male students.
