The 15 second tease that ran at the end of Macross Frontier back in March certainly excited a lot of fans, though it’s been quiet since so there hasn’t been a real groundswell of anticipation. With revived projects such as Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z out there among others, Macross has had a few other projects over the years so it’s not quite the same, but still carries the nostalgia factor. Hopes for something to land in 2014 may be a bit premature though as Shoji Kawamori was talking about the project recently and indicated that the show is very much still in the planning stages of figuring out how to go forward with it. Which pretty much means there’s nothing down at this point to even start figuring out what to do. He also commented that while the ideas are being refined, they’re still working on the scale and importance of music in the series.
