2 min read

Akame Ga KILL! CrunchyrollSet for a twenty-four episode run, the home video release for Akame ga Kill! is a pretty decent one overall. The series is going to get an eight volume release beginning on October 15th, 2014 where the Blu-ray releases will be priced at 6,800 yen each and the DVD releases at 5,800 yen each. Each volume is set to run for three episodes each with Japanese PCM language and no English language subtitles. The first volume has a few details listed for it with the clean versions of the opening and closing sequences included as well as promotional materials and some form of an audio commentary as well. Extras on subsequent volumes through the final one one May 20th, 2015 will include at least an audio commentary with more to be determined along the way.

Store based extras are being planned such as Animate offering a box to hold the series and Gamers having special drawings for items like blankets, actor autographed materials, photos, in store activities and even a cast autographed script.

The series is adapting the manga of the same name by Tetsuya Takahiro that began in 2010 and has nine volumes to its name so far. The anime has Tomoki Kobayashi set as directing working off of scripts by Makoto Ueze while Kazuhisa Nakamura is handling the character designs. The show is being animated by White Fox. Sora Amamiya will be handling the opening theme while Miku Sawai is handling the ending theme song.

Sora Amamiya is set to play the lead, Yuu Asakawa as Leone, Soma Saito as Tatsumi, Katsuyuki Konishi as Braht, Yukari Tamura as Mein, Risa Mizuno as Najenda, Mamiko Noto as Schere, Satomi Akesaka as Esdese and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Rabac.

Plot concept: Tatsumi is a fighter who just got robbed by a pretty girl, but his luck seems to be looking up, as another pretty girl has taken him in. What he doesn’t know is that this girl is about to be visited by a family of assassins (including the girl who robbed him) and they might be the good guys, and be recruiting…
