The summer season anime series home video solicitations continue and one of the latest ones to talk about is for the twelve episode series Futsu no Joshikosei ga Locodol Yattemita. The show is getting a seven volume volume release that begins on September 26th, 2014 and will be on both DVD and Blu-ray. The DVD releases are priced at 6,480 yen while the Blu-ray releases are priced at 7,560 yen for each of the first six volumes while the seventh volumes are at 5,400 yen and 6,480 yen respectively. The details of the first volume indicates that it has the first episode plus a special full length episode OVA, a manga booklet and six illustration cards to go with it. There will also bee the clean opening and closing sequences, event footage, an audio commentary and more.
The title translates as Normal High School Girls Tried Being Local Idols, which began back in 2011 as serialized in Manga 4-kom Palette. Studio feel will be animating the show with Munenori Nawa directing based on scripts by Yuniko Ayana and character designs by Yumi Shimizu. Miku Ito has signed on to play Nanako Usami while Sachika Misawa takes on the role of Yukari Kohinata.
Plot concept: By her uncle’s request, Nanako is an ordinary high school girl who teams up with her upperclassman Yukari to become their town’s local idols. The two get paid by the town to do interviews at malls, appear on local TV broad casts and hold small live events on department store rooftops.Together, the two form the “locodol” group Nagarekawa Girls.
