After a successful first season of Gundam Build Fighters, the second season is getting ready to land this October and some new details have landed alongside a new key visual. The new series is being called Gundam Build Fighters Try and takes place seven years after the first series. Shinya Watada is directing the series at Sunrise based on story composition by Yosuke Kuroda and character design by Kenichi Onuki. Mecha design, of which there is a lot, is being handled by Kunio Okawara, Junya Ishigaki, Susumu Imaishi, Kanetake Ebikawa, Shinya Terashima and NAOKI. The series stars Kazumi Togashi as Kamiki Sekai, Yuuma Uchida as Kousaka Yuuma, Yui Makino as Hoshino Fumina and Aya Endo as Kamiki Mirai.

The Sunrise series was pretty quickly dismissed by a lot of hardcore fans early on, but those that stuck with it discovered not only an interesting sorta meta kind of show going on, but one that combined a lot of different mobile suits from so many different series and timelines into multiple settings that it was an absolute visual treat to see the fights unfold. Especially without all that “complicated war stuff”. The new season is expected to retain the staff and cast and will pick up where the previous season left off.

Plot concept: Set 7 years after the end of the 1st series, when Iori Sei and Reiji won the 7th Gunpla Battle World Championships, Seiho Academy’s Gunpla Battle Club has only one member, Hoshino Fumina, who is a third grade student in junior high. As the president of the club, she needs two more members to participate in the upcoming All-Japan Gunpla Battle Championships. One day she encounters a transfer student named Kamiki Sekai, who has traveled around for Kenpo training with his master. Then joining by a young Gunpla builder Kousaka Yuuma, their challenge to the Gunpla Battle begins….
