Strange+ Season 2 Episode 1
Strange+ Season 2 Episode 1
When father says come home, you come home. Unless you’re Takumi.

What They Say:
Kou comes to a certain city, in search of his older brother Takumi, who ran away from home and disappeared. Thinking it’d be rather difficult to find his older brother, Kou decides not to go back until he finds him… but he ends up finding him immediately. However, when Kou is reunited with Takumi, he had become the head of the Mikuni Detective Agency. Takumi appears to have no intentions to go back home. Kou then decides that if his older brother isn’t going to come home, he’s going to stay at the Mikuni Detective Agency.

The first season of Strange_+ didn’t do much for me but it had some amusing moments along the way with its parodies. With it being announced as a two season show, things pretty much pick up with a new episode here that once again shows us that Takumi can speak faster than most anyone which makes an already fast paced show all the quicker. Which at times is a good thing as it can be so all over the map that you kind of hope the weirdness ends quicker. This episode gives us a kind of basic gag piece here with all sorts of little parodies as we get a woman coming into the detective agency to hire them but has to deal with the quirky nature of the group themselves. Nana has arrived but not to really hire them but rather to bring Kou back home to his father, something that Takumi isn’t keen on since he doesn’t want to lose him in the slightest. They have a kind of cute out when you get down to it, but it sets a potential background plot to this season.

In Summary:
Strange+ is a huge hit or miss show for me with what it does because of the nature of its short running time – three and a half minutes. This episode revolves around bringing Nana into the series and she could be an amusing addition to the group dynamic. There’s a lot packed into the short time here because it’s got a lot of fast paced dialogue and quick gags so it does go by fast and you do get some gags that work, but it’s still a big mixed bag.
