Crunchyroll Adds ‘Argevollen’ For Summer 2014 Anime Lineup

ArgevollenMecha action looks to have a pretty good bit of placement this summer and Crunchyroll is getting in on it with the original series Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen. The show is set to premiere on July 3rd, 2014 at 11:30am ET on the service for premium members and a week later for free members. Coming from Xebec, it’s to be directed by Atsushi Ootsuki, recent of Kanokon, with scripts by Tatsuo Sato, a man who has some very good science fiction credits behind him with our favorite Shingu as well as Bodacious Space Pirates. The show is setting Yuichi Ouka to work on character designs and Hirame Kikuchi with Kenji Teraoka to handle the mecha design.

The cast includes Ryota Ohsaka as Susumu Tokimune, Saori Ōnishi as Jamie Hazaford, Hiroshi Tsuchida as Samonji, Ukō Sayaka Ohara as Suzushiro Saori, Harumi Sakurai as Sylphie Appleton, Kenji Hamada as Lorenzo Julliano, Takahiro Sakurai as Schlein Richthofen, Sho Hayami as Julius Unios, Hideaki Tezuka as Chief, Chinatsu Akasaki as Sorano Akane, Chinami Hashimoto as Shiono Kaoru and Aimi as Rikuru Hikaru.

Argevollen will be available in the following territories: USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Turkey, Latin America, Europe (except Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vatican City, Moldova, Macedonia, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Ukraine), the Middle East, and North Africa.

Plot concept: The series takes place in a world where two countries, Alandas and Ingermia, have been warring against each other for a very long time. Tokimune, a young man belonging to the eighth independent unit, saves a girl named Jamie when she is attacked by enemy forces. In order to survive, he rides the new weapon Argevollen and fights.
