Though they’re certainly less common in a sense than we get with US comic books, miniseries do exist in the world of manga. Such is the case we’ve learned for the new Tsubasa manga that’s coming this year from CLAMP. Their site updated over the weekend to indicate that the new story will be a miniseries which will debut in the August 20th installment of ?Magazine Special. They also noted that the story is connected to the recently launched and ongoing xxxHOLIC: Rei series, which is not a surprise considering how interconnected the two previous incarnations were.
Kodansha Comics USA is starting an omnibus re-release of the original Tsubasa manga on August 19th, 2014.
Original concept: Childhood friends Princess Sakura and Syaoran, the son of an archaeologist, become entangled in a series of events that forces them to traverse through alternate realities on an action-packed adventure!
In the Kingdom of Clow, an archeological dig unleashes an incredible power, causing Sakura to lose her memories. To save her, Syaoran must follow the orders of the Dimension Witch and travel alongside Kurogane, an unrivaled warrior, Fai, a powerful magician, and Mokona Modoki, a curiously strange creature, to retrieve Sakura’s dispersed memories! But first, there is a price to be paid…

I wonder how long a miniseries is… It’s being referenced as “Another Story” So perhaps just one story arc? Goodness what I’d give for a full-length manga sequel.
