‘Akame ga KILL!’ Anime Adaptation Adds More Cast

Summer anime series Akame ga KILL! is getting more information out there ahead of its July 2014 debut as more of the cast has been revealed and the staff is all set as well. The series is adapting the manga of the same name by Tetsuya Takahiro that began in 2010 and has nine volumes to its name so far. The anime has Tomoki Kobayashi set as directing working off of scripts by Makoto Ueze while Kazuhisa Nakamura is handling the character designs. The show is being animated by White Fox.  Sora Amamiya was previously announced to play the lead character as well as handling the opening theme. Miku Sawai is handling the ending theme song.

The new cast members include:

Yuu Asakawa (Fate/stay night, Ikki Tousen) as Leone
Sōma Saitō (Haikyu!!) as Tatsumi
Katsuyuki Konishi (Kill la Kill, Silver Spoon) as Braht
Yukari Tamura (Kill la Kill, Steins;Gate) as Mein
Risa Mizuno (Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan: Demon Capital, Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino) as Najenda
Mamiko Noto (Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne, Freezing) as Schere
Satomi Akesaka (Wake Up, Girls!, Suzuka) as Esdese
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sword Art Online, No Game, No Life) as Rabac

Plot concept: Tatsumi is a fighter who just got robbed by a pretty girl, but his luck seems to be looking up, as another pretty girl has taken him in. What he doesn’t know is that this girl is about to be visited by a family of assassins (including the girl who robbed him) and they might be the good guys, and be recruiting…
