We talked a bit about the property known as Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai: A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd last year when the vocal collection CD had a new promotional video come out. Like we expected then with it showing off material from the adult game, an anime adaptation was likely in the works. And now the official anime site has opened with the announcement that it is indeed getting an adaptation that will land in October 2014.
Produced by Hoods Entertainment, the series will be directed and designed by Team Niko, which is made up of Kenichi Konishi, Tomomi Kamiya, Asami Sodeyama, Kaori Hayashi, Yu Nobuta. Series composition is handled by Kyioko Yoshimura and all of it is working off of the original story by August and character designs by Bekkankou.
Plot Concept: The story is set at Shiomi Academy, a vast, prestigious academy with a Daitoshokan (literally, “great library”) that rivals Japan’s national library. As a member of the Library Club, Kyōtarō Kakei goes to Daitoshokan to enjoy reading by himself. He then meets a second-year girl named Tsugumi Shirasaki through the efforts of a so-called “shepherd” who fulfills people’s wishes. Eventually, more girls join the club thanks to the “shepherd.”
