‘Chew’ Comics Getting Animated Adaptation

1 min read

ChewDevelopment hell hasn’t been kind to the comic book series Chew from John Layman and Rob Guillory as we’ve seen it going through different iterations and attempts that never ended up going anywhere. But things have moved forward recently and it’s shifted its approach towards an animated feature that might work better for the property and casting has been announced for the project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, to very family names are lined up to play the leads with Steven Yeun and Felicia Day taking on Tony Chu and Amelia Mintz. Yeun is known for his work in The Walking Dead while Felicia Day has built up a nice resume through The Guild and multiple other propjects.

The feature has a script written by Layman with Jeff Krelitz directing.

Original concept: Tony Chu is a detective with a secret. A weird secret. Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. It also means he’s a hell of a detective, as long as he doesn’t mind nibbling on the corpse of a murder victim to figure out whodunit, and why.
