Set to debut on March 19th, 2014, The CW has a look at the new science fiction survival series that will be playing out for the spring season. Clocking in at two minutes, it sets the foundation for the show pretty nicely while also introducing the cast in a simple way without really naming names, which makes sense since it’s easy to imagine the cast being whittled down as it goes on. With The 100, it gives us a futuristic setting that’s more like the past as a group of young prisoners are sent down to Earth to see if it can be inhabited again. And to see what kind of strange social dynamics may come to light after being stuck in space for several generations. The series is based on a book by Kass Morgan and developed by Jason Rothenberg and is planned for a midseason debut on The CW in early 2014. The production company behind it, in association with Warner Bros. TV, is Alloy Entertainment, which worked on The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, The SEcret Circle and recently with 666 Park Avenue.
