While some projects do move at a slow pace and eventually come out, often for the better, such is not the case with the live action adaptation of the anime series Noir. The project was announced quite a ways back in the summer of 2011 as a part of what Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert would be producing, but it’s had halting progress ever since. In the midst of talking about the creative direction that Starz is taking with its original programming, coming on the heels of the debut of the Michael Bay produced Black Sails, Indiewire sat down with network CEO Carmi Zlotnik to talk about a wide range of things but also talked about the Noir project in a simple and final way.

A few years ago, Starz announced Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert would be producing a live-action version of the popular Japanese anime series “Noir” to the screen, but then it was put on hold. Will there be a “Noir” series on Starz?

“Noir” is not moving forward, although we do have a deal and a continuing relationship with Rob Tapert and Ghost House Pictures, and we continue to look to do more projects with them in the future.
