Ahead of last nights premiere of True Detective on HBO, the network showed off the first full trailer for the fourth season of Game of Thrones. The new season of ten episodes is set to debut on April 6th as it adapts more material from the third, fourth and fifth books which features a lot of stories going on along the same time. The first two seasons were fairly close to the first two books, with plenty of things excised for running time obviously or condensed, but as the novel series progressed it started to span more things and narrowed focus at times to particular stories while things were going on elsewhere that ended up covered further down the line. Having just finished the third book myself, there’s a whole lot to be excited for here and the trailer definitely starts building on it.
