The folks at Comic Natalie have gotten the first round of casting for the anime adaptation of  Akuma no Riddle, though it’s beyond our translating ability at the moment. The series was first announced this past spring but not given any sort of indication when it would air beyond sometime in 2014. The series is now slated for a spring 2014 broadcast.  The show is based off of the manga by Yun Kouga, who came to fame with Loveless and her character artwork contributions for Gundam 00, which brought in new fans to the franchise that wouldn’t ordinarily go there. Written by Kouga and illustrated by Sunao Minakata, the title has been running in Newtype since 2012 and doesn’t have much out overall just yet, but there’s enough for Diomedea to work with for its anime production.

Main staff

  • Original creator: Yun Kouga
  • Original character designer: Sunao Minakata
  • Director: Keizo Kusakawa

Plot concept: The story is set at Myoujou Academy, a private girls’ boarding school. The 10th year’s Kurogumi class has 12 assassins with their sights on one target, Haru Ichinose. Tokaku Azuma is a recent transfer student who is also targeting Ichinose, but she gradually develops feelings for Ichinose.
