The official Twitter account for Wake Up, Girls! is busy once again with another image revealed for the upcoming production, which arrive after they tweeted about a few of them last week. The winter 2014 series is one that’s doing things in an interesting way in that the TV series will debut the same day as the theatrical film debuts, which is January 10th, 2014 on TV Tokyo, TV Aichi, TV Osaka, Sendai Housou, and AT-X. The series, which comes from Tatsunoko Productions and Ordet, is directed by Yutaka Yamamoto, who helmed shows such as Kannagi and the recent Senyuu series among many other things such as Haruhi Suzumiya.
Plot concept: Green Leaves Entertainment is a tiny production company on the verge of going out of business in Sendai, the biggest city in Japan’s northeastern Tohoku region. The agency once managed the careers of magicians, photo idols, fortune-tellers, and other entertainers, but its last remaining client finally quit. In danger of having zero talent (literally), the president Tange hatches an idea of producing an idol group.
