While the official site has updated with a new promotional video that’s locked for Japanese fans only, they’ve also let loose with a new piece of key visual art for the upcoming Gundam W Blu-ray box set. While the show is out of print in North America due to Bandai Entertainment being out of business, the series is getting a new lease on life in Japan where Bandai Visual is queuing up two new Blu-ray box sets to get the whole thing out this year. Unfortunately, the initial information indicates that this will not be a bilingual production in any way, though that could change as time goes on. But should the show get re-licensed, at least new high definition materials should be available.

The release plans have it coming out in two box sets, the first of which is due on November 22nd, 2013 and the second due out on January 29th, 2014. Both sets will retail for 29,400 yen, though there are plenty of discounts already popping up online.

Plot concept: Thousands of People live on giant orbiting space colonies called “Sides.” However, the Earth Government, which rules the colonies, is unjust and cruel. A group of revolutionaries builds five robotic Gundams and plans to send them to Earth to begin their fight for independence. Piloted by five young men, their hopes and dreams of freedom of the colonists with them as they descend to Earth to begin Operation Meteor!
