The Comic-Con panel for The Walking Dead hit last night and the big takeaway from it is the new trailer and the premiere date, which is set for Sunday, October 13th, at 9pm. There’s a solid breakdown of some of the cast bits from the panel at Collider, but what a lot of people like myself were looking for was to hear Scott Gimple, the new showrunner, to talk about his take and tone for the season, but that was sadly missing for the most part. Still, the trailer is the vision for it and clocking in at 4 1/2 minutes, there’s a lot to take in here and a lot to be excited about come October.
Based on the comic book series written and created by Robert Kirkman and published by Skybound, his imprint at Image Comics, The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, Melissa McBride, David Morrissey, Danai Gurira, Emily Kinney, Chad Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green. The series is executive produced by show runner Scott Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, David Alpert and Tom Luse.
